Founded in 2001, teamLab is a collaborative creative group that brings together specialists from numerous fields of practice in the digital society: programmers, artists, editors, web and print designers, architects, mathematicians, animators, CG, and engineers. They refer themselves as “ultra-technologists” and their goal is to achieve a balance between creativity, technology, art, and science.

teamLab is rooted in the historical Japanese art and operates from a unique sense of spatial recognition that is referred to as Ultrasubjective Space. team Lab’s works mainly focus on human behavior in the information age and offers innovative techniques for societal development. Their works are in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of South Australia; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Asian Art Museum, San Francisco; Borusan Contemporary Art Collection, Istanbul; and Asia Society Museum, New York. Globally, they have been the subject of many exhibitions.

Recently, teamLab has created an interactive eatery in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The exclusive restaurant, which serves only eight guests per day, offers diners with an exceptional multi-sensory experience that have the scenic beauty, tastes, and smell of Japan. The immersive space combines real-time projections that canvas the walls and tables of the restaurant with ceramic art and elegant cuisine.
